- What keeps you busy these days?
These days, my main focus is on Kosmic's business development both locally and overseas. I'm dedicated to expanding our reach and enhancing our offerings to better serve our clients. Additionally, I'm committed to my personal development as a practitioner. Spirituality is an endless path, and there are always areas where I can continue to grow and improve my skills. Whether it's deepening my knowledge in certain modalities or refining my techniques, I strive to be the best practitioner I can be to provide meaningful and transformative experiences for those I work with.
- How did you come to find your current career or life’s work?
My journey to my current career path began in 2018 when I returned to Hong Kong after completing my studies at the London College of Fashion. At that time, I was grappling with the aftermath of ending a long-term abusive relationship and was diagnosed with depression. Determined to find healing without relying solely on medication, I sought out spiritual response therapy.
Through a series of energy and chakra healing practices, I not only recovered from depression but also experienced a profound inner awakening. For the first time, I felt a deep connection to my inner self and discovered the transformative power of the universal law of attraction. This awakening sparked a desire within me to share my experiences and newfound knowledge with others.
Motivated by my personal journey of healing and self-discovery, I made the decision to change my career path and founded Kosmicland. My vision was to create a platform where people could come together to explore spirituality, share beliefs, and support one another on their own paths of growth and transformation. Kosmicland represents not only my personal journey but also a shared space for collective healing and enlightenment.
- What is it about your work or career that you enjoy most?
What I find most fulfilling in my work is the chance to connect with clients on a deeper level and guide them through their spiritual journeys. Collaborating with other brands is also a source of inspiration and growth for me. Moreover, I thrive in a challenging environment that requires constant creativity and innovation. Every day presents new opportunities to push boundaries and find innovative solutions, keeping me engaged and motivated in my career.
- What do you consider to be “hazards of the job?”
In my line of work, one of the hazards I face is the skepticism and criticism surrounding spirituality in society. Many people still hold biases or doubts about spiritual practices, which can lead to challenges and criticism from non-believers. For instance, I've encountered rejection from venues that categorize my business as "superstitious" and may be hesitant to collaborate with me.
Navigating these biases and criticisms requires extra patience and resilience. It can be a tough journey at times, but I'm grateful for those who have supported me and provided the space for my business to grow despite these obstacles.
- For people who aspire for similar careers, what would be your advice?
My advice for those aspiring to pursue similar careers is to be fearless and embrace your personal power. Trust in your own intuition and follow your spiritual path with confidence, regardless of any doubts or criticisms from others. Remember that everyone's journey is unique, and it's important to stay true to yourself and your beliefs. Don't let external opinions or judgments deter you from pursuing your passion. Instead, embrace the opportunity to explore and grow in your spiritual practice, and trust that the path will unfold as it's meant to.
- What are the career milestones that inspire you to break the glass or mould?
The milestones in my career that inspire me to break barriers and redefine norms are numerous. One significant moment occurred after my inaugural event at Soho House Hong Kong in 2021, where I was overwhelmed by the immense support from the audience. This event opened doors to collaborations with prestigious hotels such as The Murray, Rosewood, and the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club. Furthermore, being interviewed by esteemed publications like PRESTIGE andLifestyle Asia Hong Kong provided validation and recognition for my work.
These milestones not only motivated me to further develop the Kosmicland brand but also encouraged me to think from a different perspective, focusing on the genuine needs of my audience. It's incredibly rewarding to witness the impact of my work firsthand, as some of my clients have transitioned from being clients to close friends, while others have become students on their own spiritual journeys.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunities and support I have received along the way, and these experiences continue to inspire me to push boundaries, challenge stereotypes, and pave the way for a more inclusive and enlightened future.
- How do you balance work and family life? What are activities that enable you to bond with family?
Balancing my career's focus on overseas market development, with frequent travel between Europe and Southeast Asia, alongside family life, requires effective time management. When back in Hong Kong, I prioritize family time, ensuring we enjoy activities like visiting relatives in Japan or exploring new restaurants and art exhibitions locally.
- How do you unwind or rewind? Any favorite spots in your current city that you consider as your me-time haven?
To unwind and recharge, I make sure to take regular holidays. Traveling allows me to explore new places and try new experiences, which is like a recharge for me. For instance, during a recent trip to France, I learned how to ski—an exhilarating and challenging activity that I found immensely enjoyable. Whether it's trying new sports or immersing myself in different cultures, I always prioritize having fun and making the most of my travels. And above all, I remind myself to be grateful for every moment and experience.
- How would you describe your personal style? What are three your wardrobe essentials?
My personal style can be best described as "cool chic." I enjoy mixing and matching different materials, often opting for a sleek black palette with accents of gold or silver accessories. In my wardrobe, you'll always find three essential pieces:
- Black flowy high-waisted trousers: These versatile pants are a staple in my wardrobe, offering both comfort and style for various occasions.
- Black oversized blazer: A timeless and effortlessly chic piece, the black oversized blazer adds sophistication to any outfit and serves as a versatile layering piece.
- Gold hoop earrings: These classic accessories add a touch of glamour and elevate any look with their understated elegance.
With these wardrobe essentials, I can create a range of stylish and polished outfits that reflect my signature cool chic aesthetic.
- What for you makes for a good investment piece? Kindly cite examples of pieces in your current wardrobe.
When considering investment pieces, I prioritize durability, functionality, and versatility. Recently, I invested in a black velvet jacket fromPrada, which stands out for its convertible design; it can be transformed into a vest by removing the sleeves. The high-quality material ensures longevity, making it a timeless addition to my wardrobe.
Additionally, in terms of jewelry, I own a ring-necklace piece that offers dual styling options. Its unique design allows the ring to be detached from the necklace, providing versatility in accessorizing. This item exemplifies a good investment piece, as it offers both style and practicality, with multiple ways to wear it.
- What do pearls mean to you?
To me, pearls symbolize femininity, beauty, and love. They exude a timeless elegance that transcends trends and fads. Pearls have a classic allure that adds sophistication to any outfit, making them a cherished accessory for generations. Their lustrous appearance and soft glow evoke a sense of purity and grace, embodying the essence of femininity and love. Overall, pearls hold a special place in my heart as a symbol of enduring beauty and timeless elegance.
- What is everyday luxury for you?
For me, everyday luxury isn't necessarily about expensive clothing or jewelry, but rather about wearing what makes me feel good. It's about embracing comfort, quality, and personal style in my everyday attire. Everyday luxury is about indulging in the little things that bring joy and confidence to my daily routine.
